If Microsoft really want to get investment banks to buy into WPF (.NET 3.0) then I suggest they look at Eclipse Trader and then build something with WPF+OpenTick. WPF should be able to provide far superior charts compare to what is available in Eclipse Trader.

Some sort of backend integration with pricing models running on Excel Server would seem to be no-brainer as well, if not perhaps the best thing to do from a performance perspective.
