Gears + Silverlight = Dead Desktop?

It appears I’m not the only one who’s considering Google Gears and Microsoft Silverlight. I read this posting a few weeks back after I’d started looking at new ways to build a thin client trading platform. Given Netika’s recently released Silverlight demo and this posting, eTrading applications may become more interesting. It’s quite timely that the latest release of Google Web Toolkit (GWT) offers support for Gears.

  1. We have developed a tool named as Desklighter that can convert a Silverlight application into a standalone desktop application. See more details at http://blendables.com/labs/Desklighter/Default.aspx
