A colleague recently pointed me at Exegy - less than 80 microseconds latency is impressive. Further reading leads to the CEP blog and this posting which talks about the interesting work XASAX is doing in the VM CEP area.

    This is so reminescent of Wombat (ops the biggest user loses billions recently), TIBCO, Triarch, Bloomberg, algo trading is for everyone, etc type of era that this new hype called CEP will end up as the next :

    Burst.

    Totally wrong focus by IT people, and so worrying to see engineers drawn into it too.

    And for your information, 80 microseconds is not the picture you get from any single exchange in the world, so what on earth are these people on.. oh I get it, consulting and another hype to wash more money in IT.
