Microsoft wants ideas for Silverlight 3.0

MS MossyBlog wants ideas for Silverlight 3.0. Here are a few suggestions:

  • An MVP/MVC framework that works for Silverlight and WPF – with the usual feature set……
  • 3D features to compete with Flex/Flash
  • Speed up of the Silverlight delivery cycle. 2.0 is coming down the line too slowly. For Microsoft to compete with Adobe in 2008 the Silverlight team need to improve the timescales and feature set :(

  1. 3D? or 2D emulating 3D? ie if you’re refering to Papervision 3D then essentially it’s still sprite based math (visually looks 3D).

Swift3D for example are exporting to Silverlight now?.

Good point about the MVP/MVC framework and I think we are making strong foundation plays with regards to the ASP.NET 3.5 extensions but we need to broaden this more in the client surface space.

Speedup’s are a given, but that being said rushing it or getting reactive to competitors plays = bad business for all as thats when mistakes occur.. marathon, not a sprint :)
