Silverlight: RIA, The Future is Now
Scott goes public ahead of the MIX08 conference with Silverlight 2 beta 1. Having worked with early releases of Silverlight 2.0 I’m glad to see that Microsoft is finally at beta 1. I think Silverlight 2.0 vs Flex 3 is going to improve the RIA space, and provide the developer with the best tools to deliver business solutions. The fact that Silverlight 2.0 includes a DataGrid means that Microsoft has learn something from its initial WPF release that lacked a DataGrid. In my view, Silverlight 2.0 is possible more important than the initial WPF release. Could Silverlight possible mean WPF is now redundant apart from the rare cases where a heavy duty desktop application is required?
