Catching up

It’s been an interesting couple of weeks at work, hence the lack of blog postings. What follows are some thoughts on the many blog postings I’m only just getting around to reading after the usual work push of nth iteration -> QA -> production.

  • pl patterns has a curious posting on Techies vs The Business. “Highly skilled developers make development look easy because of foresight” – the opposite is also true ;)
  • Silveright 2.0 adoption is beginning to happen, but Microsoft have still got a long way to go in catching the Flash install base – Microsoft also need to gear up on controls (maybe we’ll hear so news on this at the PDC)
  • With the PDC days away, will we finally find out about Microsoft’s vision of The Cloud? Rackspace vs EC2 vs Microsoft?
  • JavaWorld has a few interesting articles on server load balancing
  • Asynchronous Agents for Native Code
  • If your already in the Flash world, Hansel’s posting on porting a Flash games to Silverlight 2.0 maybe interesting
  • High Performance Memory Database for Web Application Caches
  • While waiting for SecondLight try Touchless SDK and video
