TIBCO Silver
A few years ago we had CEP products coming from more vendors than sense, now it appears we have cloud’s coming from all directions. The latest appears to be Silver. Tim over at Cyberstrategics has compared Silver to EC2. However I suspect a better comparison is Silver vs Azure – especially as TIBCO Silver is available as a pre-built, pre-configured AMI (Amazon Machine Image) for the Amazon EC2 platform.

Anyway, back to CEP. Given that Silver offer CEP in the cloud I guess Microsoft now has no choice but to offer Orinoco in Azure.

My comparision of TIBCO Silver to EC2 was in reply to comparisons and claims I read (from both YouTube video(s) and the trade press) that Silver was somehow a better, easier, yadda, yadda, yadda mousetrap that EC2.
In my post, if you recall, I called Silver and EC2,”apples and oranges”.
