Nirvana: File Plug – Realm is currently not reachable: Realm was still unreachable after retry count

So it turns out the error I was getting in Silverlight on calling Session.init() – “Realm is currently not reachable: Realm was still unreachable after retry count” – was all down to the fact that I had not File Plugin on the nhp0 interface. I needed to set BasePath and DefaultName.

Sidebar: Nirvana Enterprise Manager sometimes doesn’t connect (ie there is no valid host entry) to the realm (nirvana as default) – nsp://localhost:9000

  1. Matt – you need to request a release version :)

  2. Hey Matt,

Thanks again for choosing to use our product.

For your reference we have added additional information to our Silverlight developers page ( http://www.my-channels.com/developers/nirvana/web/silverlight/ ) that now includes information regarding cross domain connectivity and client access policy files.

As you rightly point out a valid host entry or DNS entry needs to be in place when not using an IP address in a Nirvana RNAME. More information on Nirvana RNAME’s can be found here: http://www.my-channels.com/developers/nirvana/concepts/architecture/communicationprotocols.html

    Regards

    Paul
