Books, Random Reading and Thoughts

I’ve recently ordered the following books:

  • Domain Specific Languages – pre-ordered
  • Continuous Delivery: Reliable Software Releases through Build, Test, and Deployment Automation

On the subject of books, here’s a list of the top 100 agile books by Jurgen Appelo.

Reading:

  • Aspect-Oriented Programming made easy with Event-Based Components
  • Evolving an Embedded Domain-Specific Language in Java – following on the DSL trail 🙂
  • Billion Dollar Day
  • Case study of agile and UCD working together
  • Beyond Staggered Sprints: Integrating User Experience and Agile

Anyone on the KanBan road needs to remember the importance of the Kanban Board. If you are new to KanBan there is a very good minibook available here. KanBan is probably what a team should adopt in the last few weeks prior to a push to release if they’ve been using Scrum for the project. The last few weeks prior to a release are always “interesting” to plan 🙂 WIP is a key drive of KanBan. What WIP does your team use?
