GPU: It’s All In The Hardware – C++ AMP

With the developer preview release of VS 2011, we can embrace the C++ AMP world, and the GPU power. Before you venture down this road, make sure you have a GPU ๐Ÿ™‚ It may sound obvious, but its worth validating what graphics card is really in your dev box. Easiest way to validate you have a usable GPU is to run VerifyAmpDevices. If you don’t have a GPU card, then buy one ๐Ÿ™‚ GPU’s have come down considerable in price from 12 months ago – although slightly old, 15 best graphics cards in the world today provides a few choices.
