Random Reading and Thoughts – VS Async CTP and JavaScript

My take on what to read from December 2010 MSDN Magazine

• Behavior-Driven Development with SpecFlow and WatiN
• Performance Diagnostics of .NET Applications Using ETW
• Aspect-Oriented Programming, Interception and Unity 2.0
• Web Application UI Testing with jQuery

And a few JavaScript articles worth reading:

• jQuery Templates, composite rendering, and remote loading
• Slash your ASP.NET compile/load time without any hard work
• JavaScript Timer-Based Pseudo-Threading – a reason why Silverlight has a future?
• stackJS, a javascript module loader and dependencies handler
• ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, jQuery, Silverlight, Visual Studio (via Scottgu)

Continuing on the VS Async CTP road, the block that is possibly missing is a LoggingBlock, coupled with a easy way to instrument the blocks themselves. It’s clear that with many agent/actors running, identification of bottlenecks will become the next problem for a software engineer 🙂
